A well known man of God Bishop Nkurunziza and 3 guys have been charged with 14 counts of aggravated child trafficking and operating an unlicenced children’s home contrary to sections 56 and 109 of the Children Act .
Nkurunziza together with Reveland John Nsiyemana, both Rwandan nationals and Charles Ndora and Valens Byakusenge who are Ugandans will now face the wrath of the law after being found guilty of child trafficking by the International Crimes Division of the High Court in Kampala.
The self proclaimed man of God has been sentenced to the coolers for some good eight years.
Bishop Nkurunziza has been hiding this been using non-governmental organization and Church under Tukyuuke Holy Ministries that between August and November 2019 where he has been asking parents in Kibaale district to help them facilitate their kids in pre-primary and primary school.
He has been collecting different kids by the use of his agents who helped him get kids of about 4-15 years both boys en girls, he kept on enrolling to schools for education and later kept them at his facility that he rented in Nansana.
He also hired unprofessional staff that he used as the matron and house keeper for these children to take care of them as orphans.
These would later take pictures of these children claiming and tagging them as orphans to solicit funds from abroad.
These were arrested in 2019, but Bishop Nkurunziza entered a plea bargain agreement
Justice Andrew Bashaija consequently sentenced him to eight years imprisonment for each count of aggravated trafficking in children and three years for operating an unapproved.
The judge said the sentences are to run concurrently.
