Former Kawempe South MP, Mubarak Munyagwa and four others granted bail.

The former Mp of kawempe south Mubarak munyagwa was remanded to Luzira Prison by Chief magistrate Doreen Karungi Olga, Munyagwa was arrested alongside four other people on charges of malicious damage to property and conspiracy to commit a felony.
The group of five was alleged to have un lawfully entered land that belonged to an American man who owned a Ugandan company known as Dechomai Asset Trust Number Three LCC with an intent to annoy the company.
All the accused were able to deny all the charges on them where munyagwa in particular maintain his innocence and suggest that these might be political setups made to tarnish his name asserting that he had purchased the disputed land for Shs 1.2billion which he was paying in installments.
Today, the five appeared before Chief Magistrate Doreen Olga Karungi for a bail application and ordered the former legislator and his four co-accused persons to each first deposit a cash bail of one million shillings before leaving prison.
